What is Home Theater?

A home theater system is electronic components combined to recreate the experience of being at a movie theater. When watching a movie on a home-theater system, you are more immersed in the experience than when you watch one on an ordinary television.  When it comes to picture & sound, the theater can offer an amazing experience that we just don’t get at home. If you’ve read How Movie Sound Works, you know that a standard movie theater has three speakers behind the screen — one to the right, one to the left, and one in the center — and several other speakers spread out in the rest of the theater. In this surround sound system, you hear different parts of the soundtrack coming from different places. When somebody on the left side of the screen says something, you hear it more from the left speaker. And in a movie like “Star Wars,” you hear a rumbling swoosh travel from the front of the theater to the rear as a spaceship flies toward the camera and off the screen. You are more involved in the experience of watching a film because the world of the movie is all around you.

The second chief component of the theater experience is the large size of the movie screen. In a theater, the screen takes up most of your field of view, which makes it very easy to lose yourself in the movie. After all, you’re sitting in the dark with only one thing to look at, and everything you’re looking at seems much bigger than life.

We also enjoy going to the movies because we can see everything so well. Film projectors present very large, clear pictures. The detail is much sharper than what we see on an ordinary 19-inch television, and the movement is much more fluid. We may not consciously recognize this, but it does make a significant difference in how we enjoy a movie. When we can see more detail, we are more engrossed in the world of the movie.

What is Network Wiring?

Network cables are used to connect and transfer data and information between computers, routers, switches, and storage area networks. These cables are essentially the carrier or media through which data flows.

There are different types of communications cables, and the appropriate type to use will depend on the structure and topology of the overall architecture of the system. The most commonly used types of communications cables are dominated by what is referred to as “twisted pair cable”. In local area networks; typically office environments, retail and commmercial sites, copper commincations cabling, i.e.,twisted pair cable is by far the most commonly used type of cable.

Twisted pair cable is used in many ethernet networks. Comprising of four pairs of thin wires or conductors, these ‘wires’ or conductors, are contained inside of the insulation or outer sheath of the cable. Each pair is twisted into several additional twists. These twists are designed to prevent interference from other devices and indeed from other adjacent cables!

Fibre optic cabling is specified where high bandwidths may be needed; especially in the data centre environment and where an installation demands high capacity, typically a hospital, airports, banks….However, Fibre optic cabling is fast becoming the medium of choice for any installation that is sending high volumes of data!

Of course, there are other types of cables, i.e., coaxial cable, multipair cable and of course, other types of media such as wireless, otherwise known as wifi.

What is Projector Install

A projector is an output device that projects an image onto a large surface, such as a white screen or wall. It may be used an alternative to a monitor or television when showing video or images to a large group of people.

Projectors come in many shapes and sizes though they are commonly about a foot long and wide and a few inches tall. They can be mounted on ceilings or may be freestanding and portable. Ceiling-mounted projectors are typically larger, especially ones that project a long distance (such as 30 feet or more). These projectors are commonly found in classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, and places of worship.

Portable projectors can used wherever there is a bright surface (such as a white or light colored wall). Most projectors have multiple input sources, such as HDMI ports for newer equipment and VGA ports for older devices. Some projectors support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well.

Front vs Rear Projection Most projectors can be used for either front or rear projection. The difference is the screen, which is opaque white for front projection and semi-transparent grey for rear projection. Front projection sends the image from the position of the audience to the front of the screen. This is by far the most common method since it does not require an empty space behind the screen.

Rear projection projects the image towards the audience from behind the screen. This method is less affected by ambient light and often provides better contrast. Rear projection is commonly used in outdoor settings and commercial areas where space is not an issue.
